Happy 4th of July!
Howdy everyone- just a quick update right now, but more to come on today later. We've got another huge drive ahead of us now to Salt Lake City. Sauvie Island (northwest Portland) was a gorgeous run and I posted up by far my fasted time yet- felt fantastic, and still had congestion, etc., but definitely getting better. Hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July celebration, and as always, thank you, thank you for all your support! More to come soon!

Hi Sam and Company,
You all are in my thoughts and prayers almost continually throughout the day and even in the night. I know that I was somewhat conscious last night praying for you and you drove across the state - praying for safety and a supernatural (only given by God) rest.
We are heading out to Lk. Samish to join the family for the day.
Kirsten,I did purchase some iron on letters and numbers today at the JoAnn's Fabric. I hope that I got the right size. I will bring a small ironing board and my iron. I will pick up the EsterC at Costco this week. Let me know by Friday if I can pick up anything else. Love, Mom
P.S. We are so glad to be able to follow along via the blog.

I couldn't send you an email from your web page, so I'll try this!

I would like to offer any help you might need while in Cincinnati July 24th. Also, would be interested in running with you.

How best to contact you?

I'd heard the legends of the great Sam Thompson, but only now do I know he really exists. Truly his achievements rival the brut physicality of John Henry, match the unabashed determination of Mahatma Gandi, and even exceed the original exploits of the messengers from Marathon. I consider myself privelaged to be a witness to this mammoth undertaking. May his spirits run high and further those who came before, may his feet be impenetrable to rocks, tacs and other foreign objects, and let any whispers of doubt that stream through the air be realized as simply the winds of Thompson's legend as he briskly whisps on by. God Bless America,

Hey Sam! - Just wanted to let you know that the work crew from Hobbs, NM (June 5-9) is following your progress and praying for you. Some of us are going to try to get to Albuquerque when you run there next Thursday, and I was wondering if you or one of your crew could let me know what time you will run and where you will start. We will have a 5 hour drive and need to know if we should come over Wed. night or early Thursday. Would love to be there as your New Mexico supporters! Please send your reply to beths@zianet.com

Blessings on you and your crew during this next tough week!

In Christ,
Beth Simpson
(native of Jackson, MS - talked to you about my brother named Sam who's also 25, and I suggested you should go to seminary :-)
- when you get the time!)

Sam,
Tremendous job so far. Sorry to have missed you at Foot Traffic Flat, but I'm sure some of your Maniac brothers (and sisters) were there to keep you company. Keep up the good work and we're all rooting for you. You are the inspiration.

God bless,
Maniac Prez Steve
