START TIMES FOR THE LAST TWO!
AWESOME run today in Dallas, TX, but more on that later this evening.  Just wanted to post that tomorrow and Saturday's marathons will begin at 6am for anyone wanting to come out!  I'd love to have you!  Tomorrow in New Orleans starts/finishes by the Superdome, and Saturday in Bay St. Louis I'm not exactly sure where it starts but I will post the start/finish tonight.  6am starts though for sure.  Thanks so much everyone, and more to come later!

Sam:

Great run today in Dallas, especially given the heat, but I just realized we cut 2 miles off the official marathon course - my bad.

Just kidding - it was an honor to host your team and cause and I hope we see you again in the future. Good luck with the last two!

I ran the easy miles with the group, and I continue to be impressed with how easy Sam makes this challenge appear. Let's hope that Sam is able to get financial support to the affected Gulf communities through his heroic efforts and person sacrafice. I am proud that Sam Choose White Rock Marathon from all of his choices for a Texas marathon. Let's hope that Dallas responds by sending some more financial support to the relief efforts.

Big time stamina!!! Good job Sam,I regret not making it to any of the 51, but I will be right beside you at Lake Tahoe my friend. Congrats on North Face, you represent them well. Things are getting pretty exciting around here now that you're back home. What you've done for the coast makes us all very proud. Push on Sam!

Dear Sam, Kirsten and Team-- Congratulations on an unbelievable accomplishment and for helping those hurt by Katrina! I volunteer near Freddie & Howard at the hospital. i have been praying for you since I heard you ran Alaska and Washington. If you haven't checked yet with Guiness Book of Records I encourage you to beat it if you are close. I heard they pay 50 to $100,00 which would help New Orleans. I was in Runner's World magazine in Oct '93 right after Sept '93 Oprah Winfrey ran her first. I hope FOX and other national news give your 51 runs more coverage. I am amazed at the endurance God has given your body and pray blessings on you and family for all your life. In God's love, Lee Grittmann

Hey Sam, Kirsten, Ed, Diane, Eric, and Kath!
What a fine team you are. The efforts and commitment each of you has made to do the part you are called to is both humbling and inspiring. I'm sure emotions are beginning to rise as the final two are on the horizon. Enjoy every step, recognize the amazing Creator behind all the beauty, and finish well, friends! You are prayed for by many each day! May they carry you to and beyond the finish line Saturday!
Continuing to lift you all to the throne of grace,
Sarah

Sam, Kirsten, Eric and Kathy,
I just read the article on CNN.com and all I can say is God has created some truly amazing, incredible people. You have all given so much of yourselves and your time and I pray that it will be blessed in ways you can not even imagine. I now not only pray for your stamina in the last two days but especially for your recovery after such a test of endurance. May your efforts never go unnoticed or unappreciated. Congratulations on your accomplishments so far!

Sam,
It was so nice to see you again. It’s hard to believe a year has gone by since you left TX. I’m especially glad I got to meet Kirsten and both yours and her parents.
Thank you for the opportunity to run with you. I am so proud of you! Thank you also for being such a great ambassador of our sport. It’s remarkable that you’d use your talents for the benefit of so many others.
May you run strong and proud for many years (after you rest next week!).

Sam, sorry I misseed you in Atlanta--am a native New Orleanian living in Atlanta since 2002, and spent 10 days worling all over Mississippi right after Katrina with ARRL and Red Cross. You are carrying all of the Gulf Coast family on your shoulders, and we are running alongside you! Keep on truckin'! And say hi to the good folks in Gautier/Pascagoula/Ocean Springs for me!

Sam, congratulations, this is an impressive achievement.

However, I would like to point out that the longest ultramarathon in the world is 3,100 miles which has been run in 42 days, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-Transcendence_3100_Mile_Race. Additionally, I think that we have collectively spent enough time and resources focusing on Katrina and its effects. I, as a taxpayer, do not want to spend another dollar on rebuilding the area (only to have it be washed away by the next hurricane) and would prefer that more resources be spent on combating the root causes of the weather pattern deterioration, i.e. global warming.

Nonetheless, great effort, Sam!
